Du kannst die Löschung deiner Daten jederzeit per E-Mail an mojodojodevteam@gmail.com verlangen; Daten in deinem eigenen Cloud-Speicher löschst du dort selbst.

5. Berechtigungen

Privacy Policy

Vector Notes is a note-taking app for pen and tablet (Android and Windows). In short: your notes stay on your device or in your own OneDrive or Google Drive. There are no ads, no analytics or tracking services, and no data is sold.

1. Notes and documents on your device

Workspaces, handwriting, inserted documents (e.g. PDF, Word, images) and settings are stored locally on your device. They are not transmitted to the developer and are removed from the device when you uninstall the app.

2. OneDrive sync (optional)

If you connect the app to your Microsoft account, your workspaces, folders, inserted documents and favorites are stored in an app folder in your OneDrive so that they are the same on all your devices. Sign-in happens directly with Microsoft; the app only stores the access tokens issued by Microsoft on your device. If you additionally grant read access, the app lists your OneDrive files and downloads a file only when you open it. The app does not change or delete anything outside its app folder. The developer has no access to your OneDrive. The provider is Microsoft; see the Microsoft Privacy Statement. You can disconnect at any time.

2a. Google Drive sync (optional)

Instead of OneDrive you can connect the app to your Google account. Your workspaces, folders, inserted documents and favorites are then stored in a hidden app folder in your Google Drive (scope “drive.appdata”). The app sees other files in your Google Drive only when you pick them yourself in the Google file picker to insert them (scope “drive.file”); they are then downloaded and inserted locally. Sign-in happens directly with Google; the app only stores the access tokens issued by Google on your device. The developer has no access to your Google Drive. Vector Notes' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The provider is Google; see the Google Privacy Policy. You can disconnect at any time in the app or revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

2b. Moodle or WebDAV connection (optional)

You can connect the app to your school's or university's Moodle learning platform or to a WebDAV storage (e.g. Nextcloud). Sign-in happens directly with that website and only over an encrypted connection (https). The address, user name and the access credential (Moodle token or app password) are stored on your device, the credential encrypted in the system's secure storage (Android Keystore or Windows DPAPI). The app downloads course files from there to your device; Moodle is only read. This data is not sent to the developer and is not part of cloud sync. The website's operator (e.g. your school) is responsible for it. You can remove the connection in the app at any time; the credential is then deleted from the device.

3. Handwriting and text recognition

Handwriting-to-text conversion runs on the device: on Android with Google ML Kit (the language model is downloaded once from Google; recognition itself runs on the device), on Windows with the Windows handwriting recognizer. Text recognition (OCR) in inserted documents also runs on the device. No note content is sent to the developer.

3a. Camera

The camera is used only when you choose “Take photo” yourself, to insert a photo or scan (e.g. of a whiteboard or worksheet) into your notes. On Android the app opens the system camera app for this (the app itself has no camera permission) and saves a copy of the photo to your gallery; on Windows the app uses the camera only while the capture dialog is open. The image inserted into the note is re-encoded, which drops location and other metadata (EXIF). It stays local and only leaves the device if you use sync with your OneDrive or Google Drive.

3b. AI features with your own API key (optional)

The app may contain optional AI features (AI assistant, AI correction of handwriting). They are off by default and work only with your own API key that you obtain from a provider and enter in the app: Google (Gemini), Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (ChatGPT) or xAI (Grok). When you use such a feature, the app sends the content needed for it (e.g. your question, selected text or an image of the handwriting) directly from your device to the chosen provider. That provider's terms and privacy policy apply; with free keys the provider may use your input to improve its services. The key is stored only on your device, encrypted in the system's secure storage (Android Keystore or Windows DPAPI), and is not synced. The developer receives neither your key nor your requests or the responses.

4. Feedback

You can send wishes and bug reports with the feedback button. Only when you actively tap “Send”, the following is transmitted: your message, the chosen category, optionally an e-mail address for questions, the app version and the device type and browser/system identifier. It is transmitted via Google Forms (Google Ireland Limited) and stored in a spreadsheet of the developer in Google Drive (Google privacy policy). The data is used only to handle your feedback; we delete it on request.

4a. Signing up as a beta tester (optional)

You can sign up as a beta tester with our sign-up form (Google Forms). We store your e-mail address (the address of the Google account you use for the Play Store), optionally your name and device type, and the time of sign-up. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We use the data only to enable you as a tester in the Google Play Console and to contact you about the beta. The data is kept in a spreadsheet of the developer in Google Drive (Google Ireland Limited, Google privacy policy). The beta is limited to 50 places. You can withdraw your consent at any time by e-mail to the address above; we will then delete your data and remove you from the tester list. Sign-up data is deleted at the latest when the beta ends.

4b. Summary (Google Play data safety)

Data is collected only when you use a feature yourself: e-mail address and user IDs (feedback, beta sign-up, sign-in to your own cloud storage), photos, files and documents and other content such as handwriting and notes (sync with your own OneDrive or Google Drive), and diagnostics (app version and device type in feedback). Data is not shared with third parties and not sold. All transfers are encrypted (https). You can request deletion of your data at any time by e-mail to mojodojodevteam@gmail.com; data in your own cloud storage you delete there yourself.

5. Permissions

The Android app only requires internet access and network state (for OneDrive or Google Drive, Moodle/WebDAV, the optional AI providers, downloading the handwriting language model and sending feedback). For photos it uses the system camera app without a camera permission of its own (see 3a). Sharing and opening files uses your system's functions.

6. No ads, no analytics

The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics, tracking or crash-reporting services.

7. Children

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Contact us at the address above.

9. Changes

If the app changes (e.g. new features or a later paid offer through the app stores), this policy will be updated. The version published here applies.
